The sun shone brightly for Penketh Carnival on Saturday 8th July 2017.
The event opened with the parade from Penketh High School, Meeting Lane, Jubilee Avenue, Barnstable Way, Honiton Way before arriving at Greystone Recreational Ground. The children all looked amazing in their spectacular array of costumes (there are some very talented parents/grandparents out there!).
The day was full of fun with a Fancy Dress Competition, Dog Show, Wildwings Bird Rescue Display, Classic Cars, Car Boot/Craft Stalls, Fun Fair and performances from The Backstop Boogies Club, Viscari and Firebird Smith Blues Band.
A local resident commented:
“…great selection of rides for everyone and to see the field full with fantastic stalls and community organisations, with the support of the people of penketh and even beyond was absolutely fantastic to see as well! Well done to the organisers and everyone who has had a hand in making this event such a success”
Special thanks to all the sponsors, organisers, volunteers, children, parents, grandparents and local community for making Penketh Carnival a day to remember!
