The beginning of spring means looking forward to warmer weather and longer nights. And along with those comes the Stockton Heath Festival, Thursday 5th to Sunday 8th July.
The 11th event will have something for everyone from children’s activities to classical music, craft and of course … the ever-popular scarecrow competition!
The theme for the 2018 Scarecrow Competition
As well as great music, theatre and dancing the Festival is delighted to announce that the scarecrow competition theme is Disney Characters. This was chosen to give huge scope for creativity and imagination.
The Walt Disney Studios have created many much-loved characters from Mickey Mouse and Snow White, to unforgettable classics like The Jungle Book, Lion King, The Little Mermaid, Finding Nemo, and Beauty and the Beast, right up to Frozen and Moana.
And that’s not even counting cartoon characters such as Goofy, and Donald Duck that we all know and love!
To give you some idea of the high standard, last year’s scarecrow competition was Harry Potter with the public vote going to a large and characterful Hagrid, created by the Mind Charity shop. The best dressed window display was awarded to Maddock Funeral Directors, London Road.
The Stockton Heath Festival scarecrow competition will bring the Village to life with a colourful Disney theme. And as the weather warms up there’s plenty of time to prepare. Which character will be your favourite?
