Each year Lions Clubs International hold a Young Ambassador Competition which identifies a young person who has performed selfless acts for their community.

This year 16 year old Victoria Stammers of Birchwood Sixth Form College  won the North West Finals award which was held at Garstang in November. Victoria, who prefers to be called ‘Tori’, lives in Gorse Covert, Warrington, and has been involved in voluntary work for several years.
She recently raised £550 for Mental Health Awareness and £600 for Warrington Hospitals Childrens’ Ward.
Amongst other activities she runs an art therapy group for younger children at Birchwood High School.
She will continue her good work which will include volunteering to help needy causes with Birchwood Lions club.
Tori was presented with a cheque for £500 by the Lions and this will be used for charitable purpose of her choice.
She now goes on to the National Finals in Dudley early next year. All being well she will then go forward to the European Finals.
