For years now The Jockey Club Live North West events have become more successful and continue to grow in showcasing the UK’s best musical and sporting talent.
If someone were to mention horse racing, your first initial thought would be placing your money on a horse down at your local bookies, picking it based on the name that sounds most familiar to you – but in terms of live events, this is changing horse racing as we know it. So far, The Jockey Club Live have had amazing run of talented artists perform at Aintree, Haydock Park and many other racecourses around the country. The perfect day out for all with amazing racing, friendly betting, great food and a night of partying to the best musicians the UK has to offer.
Spend a day with family and friends using their world-class customer facilities, fine dining and bistro style food. This year, Aintree Racecourse has the pleasure of welcoming Jess Glynne to the stage on June 16th. Jess had some great things to say when asked about performing at the racecourse events last year: ‘I had a lot of fun last year firstly. Secondly, the support from The Jockey Club Live for charities was really special and loving horses as much as I do and the shows we did I couldn’t say no. Every crowd has a different energy… the band and I love playing live and the crowds don’t differ too much in size so it’s great! It will be exciting no matter what’.
Not only this, but Aintree also has the likes of top UK rock band Kaiser Chiefs performing at the racecourse on May 19th. Kaiser Chiefs are undoubtedly one of the best live bands the UK has ever seen over the past 10 years, the Brit Award-winning, multimillion selling band’s new album ‘Stay Together’ marks the bands sixth top 10 album. John Baker, Regional Director for Jockey Club Racecourses North West, said: ‘We are delighted to welcome Kaiser Chiefs to the home of the Grand National this summer and look forward to hosting a sell-out crowd at Aintree in our atmospheric Red Rum Garden amphitheatre.’
Down the road, we also have the beloved cheeky chap Olly Murs ready to bowl people over at Haydock Park Racecourse on 11th August. It’s easy to say Olly is one of the best and brightest things to come from The X Factor, and ever since the show the Essex born star has been winning the hearts of the nation with music, including 5 multi-platimum top 3 charting albums in the UK; his latest album 24 Hours climbing to number 1. Olly has made appearances at the racecourses before, but only to make a bet or two on the horses, this will be his first year officially performing for The Jockey Club Live independently. Olly had some great things to say about his upcoming appearance this summer: ‘These are shows you get to see the real people; they are days out, family days at racecourses it’s slightly different you know. Over the years I’ve done loads of different festivals, all these commercial festivals that people go to every year, I just feel like going to a racecourse is so different and people get to see a different vibe, different set, different sound and you get to see different people.’
