Armistice Day – Saturday, 11 November 2017
 
The town centre will fall silent for two minutes on Saturday, 11 November to mark Armistice Day.
The Mayor (Cllr Les Morgan) will join town centre clergy and community leaders at 10.45 am at the Old Market Place, Golden Square just before the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11 month to remember those who have been injured or lost their lives fighting for their country.
All are welcome.
 
Remembrance Sunday – 12 November 2017
 
On Sunday 12 November, the Annual Service of Remembrance will be held at the War Memorial, Bridge Foot, Warrington.
 
The service will begin at 10.59  am  when the ‘Last Post ‘ will be sounded. 
 
The Mayor (Cllr Les Morgan) will lay the first wreath.
 
Members of the public attending are asked to access and exit the war memorial via the marked crossing points and arrive by 10.45 am prior to the civic party taking their positions at the cenotaph.
 
9.50 am parade forms up at Town Hall
10.20 am:  Parade departs town Hall
11.00 am:  Two minutes silence marked by bugler from Salvation Army Band.  Cenotaph service commences
11.25 am approx.:  Parade reforms and returns to Town Hall
