Welcome to the Essential Guide Magazine!

Welcome to The Essential Guide, Warrington’s award winning, well-respected, local business and community directory, now with 11 editions across Warrington and surrounding areas, distributing 45,000 magazines every two months.

Over the last thirteen years, the Essential Guide has encouraged people to use their local shops and services, through articles and campaigns including Shop Local Challenges and the Unsung Local Hero Awards – showing what an amazing area we live in.

It’s not just local businesses that benefit. The magazines also provide opportunities for local groups and organisations to have a voice in their communities.

We also publish local News and Events to keep you up to date with what’s going on locally.

See how we can help you find more customers, whether you are a start up or an established business, we put your name and services in front of your potential customers. Your advert in a magazine will be seen in both print and published on this website and our social media platforms, along with a free listing in our on-line business directory. We also offer further digital packages for additional exposure. Read more about how we can support your business or read some feedback from our existing customers.

We also have offers for our readers – check out the Vouchers page and see if a local business has any special offers. There are also Competitions which are free to enter. We’ve given away tickets to see top bands and theatre shows across the North West, or meals out in some fabulous local restaurants. New competitions are added regularly.

Throughout its 13 years the Essential Guide has supported local Charities. In 2017 Walton Lea Partnership became our first nominated local Charity of the Year, with over £3,000 being raised through various fundraising events along with our resident Rock Band – Black Thursday, for this fantastic facility.
